What we are often asked
How much does a bespoke application cost?
It depends on the scope: an internal dashboard does not cost the same as an app with thousands of users connected to other systems. After the first meeting we give you a fixed, phased proposal and, where it makes sense, we start with a first version containing only the essentials, to validate the idea before investing further.
How long does it take to get the application?
That depends on the scope we agree in the discovery phase. Because we work in phases with regular releases, you will have parts up and running and being tested long before the project ends.
Native or cross-platform app?
If the app needs to make the most of the phone’s hardware (Bluetooth, NFC, sensors) or very high performance, we usually recommend native. If the weight is on forms, queries and content, a cross-platform app reduces cost and timescales with a single codebase. We decide with you case by case.
Can you take over an application that already exists?
Yes. We review the code and the state of the application, tell you what we find and propose how to proceed: maintain it, modernise it in stages or, only if it pays off, rebuild it. We did exactly that, for example, when modernising H+SmartRoom, ISERN Medical’s smart hospital room app.
What happens once the application is published?
Another phase begins. Every year Android and iOS versions change, as do app store requirements and the libraries the app depends on. With maintenance it keeps working, secure and up to date, and it keeps adding what the business asks for.
Do you only work with companies in Barcelona?
No. Our office is in El Prat de Llobregat (Barcelona), but we work remotely with clients all over Spain and have projects in more than 15 countries, such as the InfoVACC app, featuring South Africa’s official vaccination schedule.
